అందరిచే ఆశ్చర్యముతో చూడబడే ఇట్టి గృహమును చూచి మహేశ్వరుడు హిమవంతుని ప్రశంసించి సంతుష్టుడాయెను (24). ఆ భవనములో ఉత్తమము అతిరమణీయము అగు రత్నపర్యంకముపై పరమేశ్వరుడు ఆనందముతో కూడిన వాడై లీలగా శయనించెను (25). 

హిమవంతుడు తన సోదరులను, ఇతరులను చక్కని మృష్టాన్నముతో ఆనందింపజేసి ఇతర కృత్యములను కూడ చేసెను (26). హిమవంతుడు ఇట్లు కార్యమగ్నుడై యుండగా, ప్రియతముడగు ఈశ్వరుడు నిద్రించుచుండగా, రాత్రి గడచిపోయి, ప్రాతఃకాలమయ్యెను (27). అపుడా ప్రభాత సమయములో జనులు ధైర్యోత్సాహములతో నిండినవారై అనేక రకముల వాద్యములను మ్రోయించిరి (28).

విష్ణువు మొదలగు దేవతలందరు ఆనందముతో నిద్రలేచి తమ ఇష్టదైవమగు ఈశ్వరుని స్మరించి తొందరగా సంసిద్ధులైరి (29). వారు కైలాసమునకు వెళ్లుటకై ఉత్సుకత గలవారై తమ వాహనములను సిద్ధము చేసుకొని ధర్ముని శివుని వద్దకు పంపిరి (30). యోగి యగు ధర్ముడు అపుడు వాసగృహమునకు వచ్చి నారాయణుని ఆజ్ఞచే యోగిశ్రేష్ఠుడగు శివునితో సమయానురూపముగా నిట్లు పలికెను (31).

ధర్ముడిట్లు పలికెను-

ఓ ప్రమథ పతీ! లెమ్ము, లెమ్ము, నీకు మంగళమగుగాక! మాకు మంగళములనిమ్ము. జనుల నివాసము వద్దకు రమ్ము. ఆచట వారిని కృతార్థులను చేయుము (32).

24. Seeing all these wonderful representations lord Śiva praised Himavat and was very glad.

25. In that bedchamber, in a beautiful gemset couch lord Śiva lay down with pleasure.

26. Himavat fed all his brothers and others with pleasure and attended to the subsequent duties.

27. While the supreme lord had his sleep and the lord of the mountains was engaged in these duties, the night passed away giving place to dawn.

28. In the morning the enthusiastic people began to play on different kinds of musical instruments.

29. Viṣṇu and the other gods got up with joy, remembered the lord of gods and excitedly got ready.

30. They got their vehicles ready for the departure to Kailāsa and sent Dharma to Śiva.

31. At the bidding of Viṣṇu, Dharma went near the bed chamber. The Yogin Dharma addressed Śiva, the lord of Yogins, in a manner befitting the context.

Dharma said:—

32. Get up, get up O Śiva, O lord of the Pramathas. Please come over to the audience hall. Make the assembled people gratified.

*🌻. పాండవ చరిత వర్ణనము - 1 🌻*

అగ్ని పలికెను: ఓ ద్విజుడా! యుద్ధిష్ఠురుడు రాజ్యము చేయుచుంéడగా ధృతరాష్ట్రడును, గాందారియు, కుంతియు, అరణ్యమునకు వెళ్ళి ఒక ఆశ్రమమునుండి మరి యొక ఆశ్రమమునకు సంచరించుచుండిరి.

విదురుడు దావాగ్నిచే దగ్ధుడై మృతి చెందెను. ఈ విధముగ మహావిష్ణువు పాండవులను నిమిత్తముగ చేసి కొని, ధర్మరక్షణముకొరకును, అధర్మవినాశమునకు, పూనుకొని దానవాదిక మగు భూభారమును హరించెను. విప్రశాప మను వంకచే, ముసలముచే, భూభారకర మగు యాదవకులమును నశింపచేసెను.

శ్రీకృష్ణుడు వజ్రుని రాజ్యాభిషిక్తుని చేసి దేవతల ఆదేశమునే ప్రభాసక్షేత్రమునందు తన దేహమును పరిత్యజించి, ఇంద్రలోక బ్రహ్మలోకములందు స్వర్గవాసులచే పూజింపబడెను. బలరాముడు ఆదిశేషరూపధారి యై పాతాళ స్వర్గము చేరెను. 

వినాశరహితు డగు ఆ శ్రీ హరి యోగులచే ధ్యానింపబడు వాడు. అట్టి శ్రీ కృష్ణుడు లేని ద్వారకను సముద్రము ముంచివేసెను.

అర్జునుడు యాదవులకు ప్రేత సంస్కారాదులు చేసి ఉదకధనాదిదానములు చేసెను. అష్టావక్రుని శాపముచే విష్ణుభార్యలుగా అయిన స్త్రీలను, మరల అతని శాపము చేతనే, కఱ్ఱలు ఆయుధములుగా గల రోపాలకులు అర్జునుని ఓడించి తీసికొని పోయిరి. అర్జునుడు చాల శోకించెను. వ్యాసు డాతనిని ఊరడించెను.

*🌻 Ascendance of Pāṇḍavas to heaven - 1 🌻*

Agni said:

1. O Brahmin! When Yudhiṣṭhira was ruling the kingdom, Dhṛtarāṣṭra went to the forest along with Gāndhārī and Pṛthā (Kuntī) and passed from one stage of life to another.

2-5. Vidura was burnt by the forest fire and ascended heavens. Thus, Viṣṇu removed the oppression of demons and others on the earth, for the sake of dharma and for the destruction of adharma and having the Pāṇḍavas as an apparent cause. Having the curse of a brahmin, as a pretext, he destroyed with the club, the race of Yādavas who were oppressing (the world) Then (he) installed Vajra (son of Aniruddha) in the kingdom. On the directive of celestials, Hari himself having discarded his body at Prabhāsa, is being worshipped by the residents of heavens at the worlds of Indra and Brahmā. Balabhadra, (who was) a form of Ananta, reached heavens in the nether world.

6. Hari, the imperishable lord, is always to be contemplated upon by those who meditate (on him). Without him (at Dvārakā), the ocean flooded the city of Dvārakā.

7-8. Pārtha (Arjuna), having performed the obsequies of Yādavas, and having offered the waters of oblation and money, felt grief-stricken when the women, who were the wives of Viṣṇu (Kṛṣṇa), were carried away by the shepherds (using) the clubs as weapons and defeating Arjuna on account of the curse of Aṣṭāvakra.[1]

*🌻 367-1.‘ప్రత్యక్చితీ’🌻* 

*అంతర్ముఖముగ ఆత్మదర్శనము చేయుచు నుండునది శ్రీమాత అని అర్థము. ప్రత్యక్చితినే ప్రతీచి యని కూడా అందురు. అవ్యక్తమగు పర తత్త్వము నుండి విడివడి ఎదురుగ నిలచి పరతత్వమునే దర్శనము చేయుట ప్రత్యక్చితి అందురు. పశ్చిమమున నుండి తూర్పును దర్శించుట వలన కూడ ప్రతీచి అని పిలువబడును. శుద్ధ చైతన్యముగ అవ్యక్తము నుండి ప్రత్యేకముగ విడువడినది గనుక ప్రత్యక్చితి అని పిలుతురు. ప్రళయము పిదప సృష్టి ప్రారంభమునకు మొదటి మేలుకొలుపై ఏర్పడు సంకల్పము అని తెలియదగును. నిద్ర నుండి అపుడపుడే యేర్పడుచున్న ప్రాగ్ అవస్థ అనికూడ తెలియవచ్చును.*

*ఈ అవస్థను విచికీర్ష అని కూడ అనవచ్చును. ఇచ్ఛ కారణముగ నిద్ర నుండి మెలకువ వచ్చును. కావున ప్రథమమగు ఇచ్ఛయే విచికీర్ష అనవచ్చును. విచికీర్ష ఉద్భవించి ఈవలకు వచ్చి అభిముఖమై వున్నప్పుడు ప్రత్యక్చితి అందురు. అనగా చైతన్య రూపమున ప్రత్యేకమై ఎదురుగ నిలబడినది అని అర్థము. విడివడి ప్రత్యేకముగ నున్ననూ ఆత్మనే దర్శించు స్థితి, ఆత్మజ్ఞానము నందున్న స్థితిని ప్రత్యక్చితి అని నిర్వచింప వచ్చును.*

*సద్గురువు చిన్న చిన్న విషయముల యందు అప్రమత్తులై వుండవలెనని బోధించు చుండును. తాను ఆచరించి చూపించును. చిన్న విషయమునకు ఇంత రాద్ధాంతము చేయుట ఏమి? అని సాధకున కనిపించు చుండును. ఏవి చిన్నవో, ఏవి పెద్దవో నిర్ణయించట యెట్లు? చిన్న బెడ్డ మీద కాలువేసి జారినచో, పెద్ద బొమిక విరుగును కదా? చిన్న బోల్టు ఊడినచో పెద్ద యంత్రము ఆగదా? పెద్ద అపాయములు కలిగించువన్నియు కూడ సూక్ష్మముగా తారసపడును. పెద్ద ప్రమాదములు కలిగించును. వేగవంతమైన ప్రయాణములో చిన్న కునుకు ప్రాణమును హరించును. చిన్న చిన్న విషయములలో హెచ్చరిక గావించు వాడే నిజమైన స్నేహితుడు.*

*హెచ్చరిక నందుకొని అప్రమత్తముగ జీవించేవాడే బుద్ధిమంతుడు. అప్రమత్తత మానవులు జంతువుల నుండి నేర్చుకొనవలసి యుండును. జాతికుక్క వాసన, చప్పుడు విషయముల యందు అప్రమత్తమై యుండును. మృగరాజు తన వారిని రక్షించుకొనుటలో అప్రమత్తుడు. గ్రద్ద ఆకాశములో ఎగురుచున్ననూ నిశితమైన దృష్టికలిగి భూమిపై చరించు ఆహారమును చూచుచునే యుండును. నిశితమైన బుద్ధి ఏర్పడవలెననిన చిన్న, పెద్ద అని భావించక అన్ని విషయములందు అప్రమత్తులై యుండవలెను. అట్టివారే అపాయములను ముందుగ గ్రహించి దాటిపోగలరు. లేనిచో అశ్రద్ధ కారణముగ పతనము చెందుదురు.*

విష్ణువు మొదలగు వారందరు ఈ తీరున ఆనందముగా భుజించి నీటిని త్రాగి ప్రీతితో విశ్రమించుట కొరకై తమ తమ నివాసములకు వెళ్లిరి (13). మేన యొక్క ఆజ్ఞచే సాధ్వీమణులు శివుని భక్తితో ప్రార్థించి పరమోత్సవముతో కూడియున్న గృహమునందు నివసింప జేసిరి (14). శంభుడు మేనచే ఈయబడిన మనోహరమగు రత్న సింహాసనమునందు కూర్చుండి ఆనందముతో వాసగృహమును పరికించెను (15). మెరిసి పోయే అనేక రత్న దీపములతో శోభిల్లునది, రత్నములు పొదిగిన పాత్రలతో ఘటములతో కూడియున్నది, ముత్యములతో మణులతో విరాజిల్లునది అగు మందిరమును చూచెను (16).

రత్నపుటద్దముల శోభతో విరాజిల్లునది, తెల్లని చామరములతో అలంకరింపబడినది, ముత్యముల మణుల మాలలతో అలంకరింపబడినది, మహాసంపదలతో కూడియున్నది (17), సాటిలేనిది, మహా దివ్యమైనది, రంగు రంగులది, మిక్కిలి మనోహరమైనది, చిత్తమునకు ఆహ్లాదమును కలిగించునది, నేలపై వివిధ రచనల శోభ గలది (18), శివుడు ఇచ్చిన వర ప్రభావము వలననే నిర్మాణమైనది, శివలోకమను నామధేయము గలది (19), అనేక సుగంధ ద్రవ్యములచే పరిమిళ భరతమైనది, చందనము, అగరులతో కూడినది, పుష్పశయ్యలతో కూడియున్నది అగు గృహమును చూచెను (20).

అనేక చిత్ర విచిత్రములతో ప్రకాశించునది, విశ్వకర్మచే నిర్మింపబడినది, శ్రేష్ఠ రత్నములతో తయారైన శ్రేష్ఠ హారములతో అలంకరింపబడినది (21) అగు గృహమును చూచెను. ఆ గృహములో ఒకచోట దేవతలచే నిర్మింపబడిన మిక్కిలి అందమగు వైకుంఠము, మరియు బ్రహ్మలోకము, మరియొక చోట లోకపాలకుల నగరము (22), ఒకచోట రమ్యమగు కైలాసము, మరియొక చోట ఇంద్ర భవనము, వీటన్నిటిపై విరాజల్లే శివలోకము రచింపబడి యుండెను (23).

14. At the bidding of Menā, the chaste ladies requested Śiva humbly and made Him stay in the bedchamber where great festivities were going on.

15. Seated on a gemset throne offered by Menā, Śiva surveyed the bedchamber with pleasure.

16. It was brightly illuminated with hundreds of gemset lamps. There were many gemset vessels. Pearls etc. were gorgeously displayed.

17. Gemset mirrors, white chowries, pearl necklaces and gorgeous things were richly displayed.

18. It was unequalled in its divine exquisiteness highly pleasing and richly decorated.

19. It was evincing the powerful influence of the boon granted by Śiva. It appeared to be a replica of Śiva Loka itself.

20. It was richly rendered fragrant with various sweet smelling substances. It was very bright. There was sandal paste and aguru. Beds were richly strewn with flowers.

21. Many wondrous things of variegated colours and shapes were displayed there. It had been constructed in gems by Viśvakarman[1] himself.

22. In some places replicas of Vaikuṇṭha, Brahmaloka and the cities of the guardians of the quarters were seen.

23. In a certain place the beautiful Kailāsa was represented. In another place Indra’s palace was depicted. Over all was represented the Śivaloka.

శ్రీ కృష్ణుడు అశ్వత్థామాస్త్రముచే దహింపబడుచున్న ఉత్తరాగర్భమును రక్షించెను. పిమ్మట ఆ గర్భన్ధశిశువు పరీక్షిన్మహారాజు ఆయెను. ఆ యుద్దమునుండి, కృతవర్మ కృపాచార్యులు, అశ్వత్థామ అను ఈ ముగ్గురు మాత్రమే ప్రాణములతో బయటపడిరి. పాండవ పక్షమున పంచపాండవులు, సాత్యకి, కృష్ణడు ఈ ఏడుగురు మాత్రమే మిగిలిరి. మరెవ్వరును మిగలలేదు.

యుధిష్ఠిరుడు దుఃఖర్తాలైన స్త్రీలను ఓదార్చి, భీమాదినమేతుడై, మరణించిన వీరు లందరికిని ప్రేత సంస్కారములను చేసి, వారికై ఉదక ధనాదిదానములు చేసి, శంతనుకుమారుడైన భీష్మునినుండి శాంతిని కలిగించు సమస్త ధర్మములను, రాజధర్మములను, మోక్షధర్మములను, దానధర్మములను విని, రాజయ్యెను. éశత్రుసంహారి యైన ఆతడు ఆశ్వమేధ మాచరించి, బ్రాహ్మణులకు దానము లిచ్చెను.

ముసలము పుట్టి యాదవు లందరును నశించి రను విషయమును అర్జునునినుండి తెలిసికొని పరీక్షిత్తను రాజ్యాభిషిక్తుని చేసి, సోదరసహితుడై స్వర్గము చేరెను.

20-21. (Bhīmasena) killed his brothers with his mace. On that eighteenth day, in the night, the very strong Aśvatthāman killed the sleeping army of Pāṇḍavas of the extent of an akṣauhiṇī, the Pāñcālas and the sons of Draupadī. He also killed Dhṛṣṭadyumna.

22. Then Arjuna seized his crest-jewel with an arrow (and gave it) to that Draupadī who had lost her sons and was lamenting

23. Hari (Kṛṣṇa) revived (all of them) who were burnt by the arrows of Aśvatthāman. That embryo of Uttarā became a king (known as) Parīkṣit.

24. Kṛtavarman, Kṛpa and Drauṇi (son of Droṇa) (Aśvatthāman) survived in the battle. The five Pāṇḍavas, Sātyaki and Kṛṣṇa survived and none else.

25-26. Then that Yudhiṣṭhira having pacified the grief-stricken women, in the company of Bhīma and others, having done the obsequies for the killed warriors and having offered. waters and money and after having heard the peace-yielding dharmas, the royal duties, dharma relating to final emancipation, dharma relating to charity, became a king.

27. The destroyer of his enemy (Yudhiṣṭhira) gave away charities to the brahmins at the Aśvamedha (sacrifice). Having heard about the destruction of Yādavas[3] caused by the club and having installed Parīkṣit in the kingdom, (he) reached heavens along with the brothers.

*ఈ తత్త్వము వున్నదని గాని, లేదని గాని చెప్పుటకు వీలులేదు. మన ముండుట అది యుండుటయే గనుక వున్నది అని తెలుపుచుందురు. మాయతో సహా ఏ భూతములు పుట్టక ముందు వున్న స్థితి అగుటచే దీనిని తెలుపుట సాధ్యము కాదు. దానికి ఏ లక్షణములు లేవు. అన్ని లక్షణములు అందుండియే పుట్టును. అందే ప్రజ్ఞయూ లేదు. ప్రజ్ఞలన్నియూ అందుండియే దిగివచ్చినవి. దీనిని తెలిసిన వారు కొందరు శూన్య మనిరి. కొందరు పూర్ణ మనిరి.*

*వేదములలో దీనిని “అది” అని పిలిచిరి. అనగా ఈ తత్త్వము స్త్రీ కాదు. పురుషుడు కాదు. నపుంసకము కాదు. దీనిని నిర్వచించుట దుర్లభము. పుట్టిన వాటికి నిర్వచనము లుండును గాని, పుట్టని దానికి నిర్వచన ముండదు. దీనికి పుట్టుక లేదు గనుక చావునూ లేదు. కాలము కూడ దీని నుండే పుట్టినది గనుక కాలమున కతీతము. దీని గూర్చి తెలుసుకొను వారికి ఆధారముగ నుండును. కనుక తెలియబడదు.*

*Madhyama vaikharirupa bhaktamanasa hansika ॥ 81 ॥ 🌻*

*🌻 366-2. Parā परा 🌻*

*This Absolute form is also called parāvāc form. This parāvāc is primeval stage. The sound in this stage can be called as a seed that has not yet germinated. When the seed begins its germination, the stage is called paśyantī (nāma 368). At this stage the seed has the desire to grow. The stem becomes visible and the seed is set to commence its journey of growth. Though it is known for certain that there is going to be a tree at a future date, one does not know how the tree would be, big or small, fruit bearing or barren etc. When the sapling grows to a certain height, one is able to see its leaves, he will be able to identify what type of tree that would be. This stage is called madhyamā (nāma 370). The sapling further grows to become a tree, when one is able to see its flowers and fruits. He is able to recognize the nature of this seed totally now. The complete form of the tree is known at this stage. This is called vaikharī stage. These three stages originated from the form of the Absolute, the seed in this example. Absolute form is called as parāvāc. Parā mean the highest form or the supreme form and vāc means sound. Parāvāc means the supreme form of sound. From this parā form or the seed form sound germinates, grows and yields words. The result is a full word with meaning.*

*In a human being this parāvāc is said to be in the form of kuṇḍalinī (nāma110) energy posited in mūlādāra cakra or base cakra. From the base cakra, the seed of the sound begins its ascent, reaches manipūraka cakra or navel cakra in the form of paśyantī, moves to anāhat cakra or heart cakra in the form madhyamā and reaches viśuddhi throat cakra as vaikharī where the final cleansing takes place. From the throat cakra the physical form of words are delivered. The vibration of kuṇḍalinī energy is the seed of the sound. When a desire of speech arises, it manifests as Śabda Brahman at mūlādhāra and moves up to take a physical form and delivered through throat cakra in the form of vaikharī. Śabda Brahman is the Brahman in the form of sound. Like universe manifesting from the Brahman, words originate from Śabda Brahman. In reality, these two Brahman are not different.*

🌷. తాత్పర్యం :

*ఓ కురువంశ శ్రేష్టుడా! యజ్ఞమును నిర్వహింపకుండా ఎవ్వరును ఈ లోకముగాని, ఈ జన్మమునందు గాని ఆనందముగా జీవింపలేరు. అట్టి యెడ తరువాతి జన్మమును గూర్చి వేరుగా చెప్పనేల?*

🌷. భాష్యము :

జీవుడు ఎటువంటి భౌతికస్థితి యందున్నప్పటికిని తన నిజస్థితి యెడ జ్ఞానరహితుడైన యుండును. అనగా పాపజన్మల ఫలముల వలననే భౌతికజగమునందు అస్తిత్వము కలుగుచున్నది. అజ్ఞానము పాపజన్మకు కారణము కాగ, పాపజీవనము మనుజుడు భౌతికత్వమున కొనసాగుటకు కారణమగుచున్నది. 

అట్టి భవబంధము నుండి ముక్తిని సాధించుటకు మానవజన్మ యొక్కటే సరియైన మార్గమే యున్నది. కనుకనే వేదములు దానిని సాధించుటకు ధర్మము, అర్థము, నియమిత ఇంద్రియభోగము, అంత్యమున దుర్భరస్థితి నుండి సంపూర్ణముగా విముక్తి యనెడి మార్గములను చూపుట ద్వారా మనలకు ఒక అవకాశము నొసగుచున్నది. 

ధర్మమార్గము (ఇంతవరకు తెలుపబడిన వివిధయజ్ఞ నిర్వహణములు) మన సర్వ ఆర్ధిక పరిస్థితులను అప్రయత్నముగా చక్కబరచగలదు. జనాభివృద్ధి అధికముగా నున్నను యజ్ననిర్వాహణము ద్వారా సమృద్ధిగాగా ఆహారము, పాలు ఆదివి లభింపగలవు. దేహము చక్కగా పోషింపబడినప్పడు ఇంద్రియభోగానుభవ భావన కలుగును. కనుకనే వేదములు నియమిత భోగానుభవము కొరకై పవిత్ర వివాహపద్ధతిని నిర్దేశించుచున్నవి. 

తద్ద్వార మనుజుడు క్రమముగా భౌతికబంధము నుండి ముక్తుడై ఉన్నతస్థితిని చేరును. అట్టి ముక్తస్థితి యందలి సంపూర్ణత్వమే భగవానునితో సాహచర్యము. పూర్వము వివరించినట్లు అటువంటి సంపూర్ణత్వము యజ్ఞనిర్వాహణము ద్వారానే లభించగలదు. అట్లు వేదములు తెలిపినరీతిగా యజ్ఞమును నిర్వహించుట యందు మనుజడు అనురక్తుడు కానిచో ఈ జన్మమునందైనను సుఖమయ జీవనము ఊహింపలేడు. 

ఇక వేరే దేహముతో ఇంకొక లోకమునందు సౌఖ్యమును గూర్చి తెలుపుదనేమున్నది? వివిధయజ్ఞములను నిర్వహించువారికి అమితానందమును గూర్చుటకు స్వర్గలోకములందు వివిధప్రమాణములలో భౌతికసుఖములు గలవు. కాని కృష్ణభక్తిని చేయుట ద్వారా ఆధ్యాత్మికలోకమును పొందుటయే మానవునికి అత్యంత ఉత్కృష్టమైన ఆనందమై యున్నది. కనుకనే కృష్ణభక్తిరసభావనము సర్వభవక్లేశములకు దివ్యమైన పరిష్కారమై యున్నది.

🌷 Translation : 

*O best of the Kuru dynasty, without sacrifice one can never live happily on this planet or in this life: what then of the next?*

🌹 Purport :

Whatever form of material existence one is in, one is invariably ignorant of his real situation. In other words, existence in the material world is due to the multiple reactions to our sinful lives. Ignorance is the cause of sinful life, and sinful life is the cause of one’s dragging on in material existence. The human form of life is the only loophole by which one may get out of this entanglement. The Vedas, therefore, give us a chance for escape by pointing out the paths of religion, economic comfort, regulated sense gratification and, at last, the means to get out of the miserable condition entirely. 

The path of religion, or the different kinds of sacrifice recommended above, automatically solves our economic problems. By performance of yajña we can have enough food, enough milk, etc. – even if there is a so-called increase of population. When the body is fully supplied, naturally the next stage is to satisfy the senses. The Vedas prescribe, therefore, sacred marriage for regulated sense gratification. 

Thereby one is gradually elevated to the platform of release from material bondage, and the highest perfection of liberated life is to associate with the Supreme Lord. Perfection is achieved by performance of yajña (sacrifice). Now, if a person is not inclined to perform yajña according to the Vedas, how can he expect a happy life even in this body, and what to speak of another body on another planet? 

There are different grades of material comforts in different heavenly planets, and in all cases there is immense happiness for persons engaged in different kinds of yajña. But the highest kind of happiness that a man can achieve is to be promoted to the spiritual planets by practice of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Is therefore the solution to all the problems of material existence

Goodness of behaviour is more a quality of outlook than a quantitative reach of one's actions to distant corners of the world.*

*To be qualitatively good in respect of even one person would speak more gloriously of that source of service than to be just quantitatively philanthropic to a large number of individuals. Goodness does not require any announcement in public, it does not seek recognition, not even a word of thanks, for, “Is not the least one in this world going to be recognised as the first in the kingdom of God?” Civic obligations arise from human nature itself. They spring from the very needs of human make-up which has connections with different kinds of facility that is expected to be received from the world. *లేకపోవడమే నిజమైన వుండడం. నువ్వు అహంగా మాయమయిన క్షణం విశాలమవుతావు. విస్తృతమవుతావు. సముద్రానుభావానికి పొందుతావు. సరిహద్దులు లేని సంతోషాన్ని అందుకుంటావు. కానీ మనం మరీ ఎక్కువగా మనసుకు అతుక్కుపోయి వుంటాం. అది చాలా అల్పమయింది. సూక్ష్మాతి సూక్ష్మమయింది. మనం మరీ శరీరానికి అతుక్కుపోయి వుంటాం. మరీ ఎక్కువగా దాని గుండా గుర్తింపబడతాం. అది చిన్న గుడిసె దాంట్లో నివసించాలి. శుభ్రపరచాలి. దాన్ని అందంగా పెట్టాలి. సూక్ష్మ యంత్రమయిన మనసునీ వుపయోగించు. కానీ యంత్రానికి లొంగకు. డ్రైవరు కారు నడుపుతాడు. కార్లో వుంటాడు. కానీ కారు కాడు.*

*మనకు సంబంధించిన వ్యవహారం కూడా అలాంటిదే. మనముంటున్న యంత్రం ద్వారా మనం గుర్తింపు పొందుతున్నాం. ఈ రకమైన గుర్తింపు అహాన్ని యిస్తుంది. నేను శరీరం, నేను మనసు, నేను క్రిష్టియన్ని, నేను హిందూని, తెల్లవాణ్ణి, నల్లవాణ్ణి, నేను అది, నేను యిది! ఇవన్నీ కేవలం గుర్తింపులు. ధ్యానమంటే గుర్తింపు లేకపోవడం. కేవలం. నేను చైతన్యం మాత్రమే. పరిశీలనని, మెలకువని, సాక్షిని, అన్న విషయం గుర్తుంచుకోవాలి. ఆ సాక్షిగా వుండడంలో అహం అదృశ్యమవుతుంది. అహం అదృశ్యమయితే గొప్ప విప్లవం జరుగుతుంది. నువ్వు అల్పమయిన, చిన్ని ప్రపంచం నించీ విశాలమైన, సౌందర్యభరితమైన వైశాల్యంలోకి, కాలం నించి శాశ్వతత్వంలోకి మరణం నించీ మరణ రాహిత్యానికి సాగుతావు.*

*“ఇట్లు చేసిన బాగుండునా?" అని ప్రశ్నించువాడు ప్రశ్నయందే తన కట్లు చేసిన బాగుండునని తెలుపుచున్నాడు. బాగుండదని నీవు తెలిపిననూ వినడు. అట్లు తెలిపిన చేదుగ ండును. "నీవన్నట్లే కానిమ్ము.” అనుట పృచ్ఛకునికి తృప్తి కలిగించును. అట్లనినచో అతను చెడి పోవును కదా! అని నీకనిపించినచో దానిని కూడ వివరించుము. వద్దు, కాదు, కూడదు అని తెలిపి ఉపయోగము లేదు. సూటిగ వ్యతిరేకించుట సమాధానము కాదు.*

*విభీషణుడు రావణుని సూటిగ సమాధాన రూపమున వ్యతిరేకించుట వలననే రాజ్య బహిష్కారము నకు గురి అయినాడు. హనుమంతుడు తన ప్రభువు సుగ్రీవుడు చేయుచున్నది అకార్యమని అనకుండగనే కార్యమున నిలబెట్టినాడు. హనుమంతుడు తెలిసినవాడు. విభీషణుడు తెలియనివాడు. విదురుడు తెలిసీ తెలియని వాడు. సమాధానము చెప్పుట ఒక ప్రత్యేక విద్య. దానికిని ఒక ఉపాసనా మార్గమున్నది. తనకు తోచినదే సమాధానమనుకొనుట మూర్ఖత.*

బ్రహ్మఇట్లు పలికెను-

కుమారా! అపుడు మహాభాగ్యవంతుడు, పర్వతరాజు, విద్వాంసుడునగు హిమవంతుడు భోజనము కొరకు ప్రాంగణమును ఏర్పాటు చేసెను (1). ఆయన దానిని తుడిపించి, చక్కగా సుగంధ ద్రవ్యములను చల్లించి, అనేక వస్తువులచే శ్రద్ధగా అలంకరింపజేసెను (2). అపుడు హిమవంతుడు దేవలనందరినీ, ఇతరులను, ఈశ్వరుని, తన కుమారులగు పర్వతుల చేత, మరియు ఇతరులచేత ఆహ్వానింప జేసెను (3). ఓ మునీ! ఆ ప్రభుడు పర్వతుని ఆహ్వానమును విని అచ్యుతునితో గూడి, దేవతలు మొదలగు వారందరితో కలిసి ఆనందముతో ఆచటకు భోజనము కొరకై వెళ్లెను (4).

హిమవంతుడు శివుని ఇతరులనందరిని యథావిధిగా మంచిగా సత్కరించి ఇంటి లోపల మంచి పీటలపై ఆనందముతో కూర్చుండబెట్టెను (5). అనేక మధుర పదార్థములను వడ్డించిన తరువాత ఆయన సమ్మానపూర్వకముగా చేతులు జోడించి భోజనమునకు అనుమతినిచ్చెను (6). అపుడచట సన్మానింపబడిన విష్ణువు మొదలగు దేవతలందరు సదాశివుని ముందిడుకొని భోజనము చేసిరి (7). అపుడు వారందరు ఒకే సారి అంతటా వరుసలో వేర్వేరుగా కూర్చుండి నవ్వుతూ భుజించిరి (8).

మహాత్ములగు నంది, భృంగి, వీర భద్రుడు, వారి గణములు కుతూహలముతో గూడిన వారై వేర్వేరుగా భుజించిరి (9). ఇంద్రాది దేవతలు, మహాత్ములగు లోకపాలకులు వివిధ శోభలతో గూడిన వారై అనేక హాస్యోక్తులను పలుకుతూ భుజించిరి (10). మునులు, విప్రులు, భృగువు మొదలగు ఋషులు అందరు వేర్వేరు పంక్తులలో కూర్చుండి ప్రీతితో భుజించిరి (11). చండీ గణములందరూ కుతూహలమునకు కలిగించువారై అనేక హాస్యవచనములను పలుకుతూ ఆనందముతో పళ్లెరముల యందు భుజించిరి (12).

Brahmā said:—

1. O dear one, then the clever chief of mountains caused suitable arrangements to be made in the courtyard for feeding the visitors.

2. He caused the ground to be swept clean and scrubbed well. Different kinds of fragrant stuffs were used to make the place attractive and pleasing.

3. Then the mountain invited all the gods and others along with the lord for taking food, through his sons and others.

4. O sage, on hearing the invitation of the mountain, the lord accompanied by Viṣṇu, the gods and others went gladly to take His meal.

5. The mountain received the lord and all those duly and made them sit in good seats in the inner apartment.

6. After serving sweet and well-cooked delicious foodstuffs, he requested them to take their food with palms joined in reverence and head bent down.

7. Then duly honoured, Viṣṇu and other gods keeping Sadāśiva at the head took their food.

8. They sat in rows together, took their food simultaneously laughing (and talking).

9. Nandin, Bhṛṅgi, Vīrabhadra and his Gaṇas took their meals separately. The fortunate people took food enthusiastically.

10. The gods, with Indra, the guardians of the quarters all forunate and brilliant took their food cracking jokes and talking.

11. The sages and brahmins, Bhṛgu and other sages sat in separate rows and took their food with pleasure.

12. The Gaṇas of Caṇḍī took their meals and then cracked jokes and talked merrily.

దుర్యోధనుడు శోకార్తు డయ్యెను అపుడు ద్రోణుడు సేనాధిపత్యము వహించెను. సంతసించిన పాండవ సైన్యమున దృష్టద్యుమ్నుడు సేనాపతి అయ్యెను.

వారిరువురికిని యముని రాష్ట్రమును పెంచు యుద్ధము జరిగెను. ద్రోణుడను మహాసముద్రమునందు విరాట ద్రువదాదులు మునిగిపోయిరి. హస్త్యశ్వరథవదాతులు గల దుర్యోధనసేన కూడ పాండవసేనాపతియైన దృష్ఠద్యుమ్ముని చేత (చంపబడెను). ద్రోణుడు యుద్దమునందు యముడు వలె కన్పట్టెను. అశ్వత్థామ మరణించెను. అను మాట విని ద్రోణుడు ఆయుధములను విసర్జించెను. ఎదిరింప శక్యము కాని అతడు సర్వక్షత్రియులను సంహరించి ఐదవ దివసమున ధృష్టద్యుమ్నుని బాణములచే కొట్టబడి మరణించెను.

దుర్యధనుడు శోకార్తుడయ్యెను. అపుడు కర్ణుడు సేనాపతి ఆయెను. అర్జునుడు పాండవుల సేనాపతి ఆయెను వారిరువురును శస్త్రములతో ఒకరి నొకరు కొట్టుకొనగా భయంకరమైన, దేవాసురయుద్ధతుల్య మగు యుద్ధము జరిగెను. కర్ణార్జునసంగ్రామమునందు కర్ణుడు బాణములతో శత్రువులను సంహరించెను. రెండవ రోజున కర్ణుని అర్జునుడు సంహరించెను. శల్యుడు సేనాధిపత్యమును వహించి అర్ద దివనము యుద్దము చేసెను. యుధిష్ఠిరు డాతనిని సంహరించెను. సైన్యము నశించగా సుయోధనుడు భీమసేనునితో యుద్ధము చేసెను. చాలమంది సైనికులు మొదలగు వారిని చంపి అతడు భీమసేనుని మీదకు వెళ్ళెను. భీమసేనుడు గదతో యుద్ధము చేయుచున్న ఆతనిని ఆతని తమ్ములను పదు నెనిమిదవ దినమున పడగొట్టెను.

*🌻 Story of the Mahābhārata - 2 🌻*

11. As Duryodhana was grief-stricken, Droṇa became the Commander. As the army of Pāṇḍavas was jubilant, Dhṛṣṭadyumna (was made) the Commander.

12. There was a fierce battle between the two which made the domain of Yama (the god of death) extensive. Virāṭa, Drupada and others were drowned in the ocean of (arrows of) Droṇa.

13. The huge army of Duryodhana (consisted of) elephant, horse, chariot and infantry. Droṇa became just like Kāla (death himself) for the (army) headed by Dhṛṣṭadyumna.

14- 15. When it was proclaimed that Aśvatthāman was killed, Droṇa abandoned his astras. Overcome by the arrow of Dhṛṣṭadyumna he fell on the earth on the fifth day, (himself being) unassailable and after having killed many warriors. As Duryodhana was grief-stricken, Karṇa became the commander.

16. And Arjuna (became the commander) of the Pāṇḍava forces. There was combat between them, between weapons and weapons, very fierce and resembling a war between devas and asuras.

17. In the war known as the Karṇārjuna, Karṇa killed the enemies with his arrows. On the second day, Karṇa was killed by Arjuna.

18. Śalya fought for a day and Yudhiṣṭhira killed him. Suyodhana (Duryodhana), whose army had been destroyed, fought with Bhīmasena.

19. Having killed many men (in their army) (he) challenged Bhīmasena. Bhīmasena killed him, who was attacking with the mace.

*All that you try to do to make life more perfect is futile, but it takes time to realize it. When you are feeling stuck, you do two things. You can change your lifestyle, and then for a few days again you will be on a honeymoon, with hopes and desires and ambitions, and the possibility of tomorrow again will become alive. But after a few days you realize that tomorrow never comes. Again you are stuck, and the whole thing again becomes a routine.*

*It is just like when you love a woman or a man. The honeymoon over, the love is over. By the end of the honeymoon, you are again seeking and searching for another. You can go on in this way from one honeymoon to another, but it is not going to help. You have to realize that there is nothing to achieve in life. Life is not goal oriented. *శ్రీమాత పరతత్వమే అని అర్థము. సృష్టికి ఆవల యున్న తత్త్వమును 'పర' అందురు. దానిని గూర్చి వివరించుట శక్యము కాదు. ఆ తత్త్వ మెట్లున్నదో తెలుసుకొన గోరువాడు తెలుసుకొను ప్రయత్నమున దానిలో ఇమిడి పోవును గనుక తెలుసుకొన వీలుపడదు. ఈ తత్త్వము సృష్టి యున్ననూ లేకున్ననూ యుండును గనుక దీనిని 'సత్యము' అనిరి. ఎప్పుడునూ యుండునది గనుక వున్నది అని కూడ అందురు.*

*మనము “వున్నాము” అని భావించుట కూడ దాని వలననే. అదియే అన్నిటికీ మూలము. దీనినే మన వాఙ్మయమున 'పరబ్రహ్మము' అనిరి. అనగా బ్రహ్మమునకు కూడ పరమని అర్థము. అట్లే పరమశివుడు అనియు నారాయణు డనియు కూడా అందురు. సృష్టి సమస్తమునకు పరమైనటు వంటి తత్త్వమిది. ఈ తత్త్వము నుండి అనేకానేకములు పుట్టుచుండిననూ దానియందు మార్పు యుండదు. ఎట్టి మార్పునకు అది గురికాదు.*

*Madhyama vaikharirupa bhaktamanasa hansika ॥ 81 ॥ 🌻*

*🌻 366-1. Parā परा 🌻*

*In the next few nāma-s Her Śabda (sound) Brahman form is going to be discussed. The literal meaning of ‘Brahman’ is growing, developing, swelling, expanding, evolving etc. This nāma refers Her un-manifested form (of the Brahman). In order to understand this nāma and the next few, origin and evolution of sound becomes a necessity.*

*Prakāśa and vimarśa form of the Brahman are quite frequently referred to while discussing the Supreme Reality or the Absolute. Generally it is to be understood that prakāśa form represent Śiva and vimarśa form represent Śakthī. Śiva or Parameśvara (parama means the highest) is pure and unblemished self-illuminating light and Śakthī or vimarśa is the realisation of this pure light.*

*Prakāśa and vimarśa cannot be separated. There is a Sanskrit saying that word and its meaning cannot be separated; in the same way Pārvatī or Śakthī and Parameśvaran or Śiva cannot be separated from each other. When there is a brilliant light, one needs to have knowledge to realise it as light. Suppose, there is a candle burning, and on seeing the candle with light, one can say that the candle gives light.*

*When one wants to see a candle light, he needs to have a lighted candle. The light and its visibility though separate, are interdependent. Visibility is the expression of light and without the source of the light, visibility becomes impossible. In the same way, light is of no use, if it is not reflected making the visibility possible. Both light and its expression together is known as light. This is called prakāśa vimarśa māyā or the Absolute. Sound originates from this Absolute form.*

పూజా సమయంలో యథాశక్తి తనకు ఉన్నంతలో పత్రమో, పుష్పమో, ఫలమో, జలమో సమర్పించు కుంటూ ఉంటాడు. 

ఈ విధంగా సమర్పించడం కృతజ్ఞతా సూచకం అయితే కావచ్చునేమో గానీ.. అసలు మనిషి భగవంతుడికి సమర్పించగల శక్తిమంతుడేనా...

ఇలా ఆలోచిస్తే, ఎంతమాత్రం కాదని చెప్పవచ్చు... భగవంతుడిదే ఈ యావత్‌సృష్టి...

అలాంటివాడికి భక్తుడు ఇచ్చే కానుకలు అత్యల్పమైనవే. కానీ ఏదో ఒకటి సమర్పించకపోతే భక్తుడి మనసు వూరుకోదు...

పూర్వం ఒక యోగి భగవంతుణ్ని అర్చించడానికి సిద్ధమయ్యాడు. 

అప్పుడు అతడిలో వివేకం ఉదయించింది. 

పూజలో ఒక్కొక్క ఉపచారాన్నీ చేస్తూ భగవంతుడితో ఇలా విన్నవించుకున్నాడు... 

"పరమేశ్వరా... నీవు బ్రహ్మాండమంతా నిండి ఉన్నావు, కనుక నిన్ను ఎలా ఆవాహన చేయాలి..

అన్నింటికీ ఆధారమై నీవు ఉండగా నీకు ఆసనం ఎక్కడ వేయాలి..

నిరంతరం స్వచ్ఛంగా ఉండే నీకు కాళ్లు కడుక్కోవడానికి నీళ్లెందుకు..

పరిశుద్ధుడవైన నీకు ఆచమనం అవసరమా..

నిత్యనిర్మలుడవైన నీకు స్నానం ఎలా చేయించాలి..

ప్రపంచమంతా నీలోనే ఉండగా నీకు వస్త్రం ఎలా ధరింపజేయాలి..

గోత్ర వర్ణాలకు అతీతుడవైన నీకు యజ్ఞోపవీతం అవసరమా..

ఏ లేపనాలూ అవసరం లేని నీకు గంధం ఎలా పూయాలి..

నిత్య పరిమళుడవైన నీకు పూలు పెట్టడం ఎందుకు..

మహిమతోనే వెలిగిపోయే నీకు ఆభరణాలు తొడగాలా..

నిరంజనుడవైన నీకు ధూపం వేయడం సరి అయినదేనా..

జగత్తుకే సాక్షిగా నిలిచిన నీకు దీపం అవసరమా..

నిజమైన ఆనందంతో నిలిచే నీకు నైవేద్యం ఎందుకు..

విశ్వానికే ఆనందాన్ని అందించే నీకు తాంబూలాన్ని అర్పించి సంతృప్తి పరచగలనా..

అంతమే లేకుండా అంతటా వ్యాపించిన నీకు ప్రదక్షిణం ఎలా చేయాలి..

అద్వయుడవైన నీకు నమస్కారం ఎలా చేయాలి..

వేదాలే నిన్ను స్తుతించడానికి శక్తి చాలనివి అవుతుంటే నేను నిన్ను ఎలా స్తుతించాలి.."

...ఈ పలుకుల్లో నిజం లేకపోలేదు, భగవంతుడి ముందు ఎంతటి మానవోత్తముడైనా అత్యల్పుడే...

వీడి శక్తి భగవంతుడి ముందు పరిగణనలోకి రానే రాదు. అయినా భగవంతుడు మనిషి చేసే పూజలను స్వీకరిస్తున్నాడంటే ఆయన అపార కారుణ్యం వర్ణించలేనిది...

నిజంగా భగవంతుడు మనిషి నుంచి కోరేవి సంపదలు కావు, వస్తువులు అంతకన్నా కావు...

ఆయన మనిషి నుంచి హృదయార్పణను కోరతాడు, భక్తితో స్మరిస్తే చాలునంటాడు, కానీ మనిషి మనసు చంచలం, చపలం. 

స్థిరంగా ఒకచోట ఉండదు, లౌకిక లంపటాల వల్ల భగవంతుడిపై లగ్నం కాదు. అందుకే... శంకరభగవత్పాదులు...

ఓ పరమేశ్వరా... నా మనసు ఒక కోతి వంటిది. అది ఎప్పుడూ సంసారవాంఛ అనే అడవిలో తిరుగుతూ ఉంటుంది...

భార్యా పుత్రుల ప్రేమ అనే చెట్టుకొమ్మను పట్టుకొని వేలాడుతూ ఉంటుంది...

క్షణం తీరిక లేకుండా అటూ ఇటూ పరుగులు తీస్తుంటుంది, అందువల్ల నా మనసు అనే కోతిని నీకు అర్పిస్తున్నాను, దాన్ని తాడుతో గట్టిగా కట్టి నీ అధీనంలో ఉంచుకో' అని ప్రార్థిస్తారు...

సామాన్య భక్తులను తరింప జేయడానికి ఆయన చేసిన విన్నపం ఇది...

ఓ పరమేశ్వరా... బంగారు కొండ మేరు పర్వతమే నీ చేతిలో ఉంది, అపార ధనవంతుడైన కుబేరుడు నీ పాదదాసుడై ఉన్నాడు...

కల్పవృక్షం, కామధేనువు, చింతామణి నీ ఇంటిలోనే ఉన్నాయి, షోడశ కళలను కురిపించే చంద్రుడు అమృతాన్ని వర్షిస్తూ నీ తలపైనే ఉన్నాడు. 

సమస్త మంగళాలనూ కలిగించే జగన్మాత సర్వమంగళయై నీ పక్కనే ఉంది. 

కనుక నీకు నేనేమీ ఇవ్వలేను, నా దగ్గర ఉన్నది ఒక్క మనసే, అది నీకు సమర్పిస్తున్నాను..

అని హృదయాన్ని అర్పిస్తే భగవంతుడు ఎంతో ఇష్టపడతాడు. 

అచంచల విశ్వాసం, అకుంఠిత భక్తి, అన్నింటినీ నివేదించగల మనసు ఉంటే చాలు, భగవంతుడు ఏ రూపంలో ఉన్నా పూజల్ని అందుకుంటాడు. 

అట్టహాసాలు, ఆర్భాటాలు నిజమైన పూజలు కావు, హృదయార్పణమే పూజ, నిశ్చల ధ్యానమే భక్తి, అంతేకానీ లోకమంతా చూడాలని చేసే నటనలు పూజలు కావు... ఈ సత్యాన్ని మనిషి గ్రహించాలి...
